Introduction to the ASAM Criteria, 4th Edition

This four hour virtual training will provide learners with an understanding of the history and purpose of the ASAM criteria and an overview of how the assessment dimensions have changed from the 3rd to the 4th editions.

Learn more about each of the 6 dimensions, the criteria for their respective subdimensions and the updated ASAM continuum of care. Practice determining the level of care based on domain criteria.

Meet your trainer:

Karin Duncan LCSW, CSACKarin Duncan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC), currently serving as the Internal Training and Internship Coordinator at Western Tidewater Community Services Board.

With two decades experience in the human services, criminal justice and counseling fields, Karin has extensive experience working with high-risk adolescents and their families as well those who struggle with substances and issues surrounding addiction. A graduate of Bryn Mawr College’s Master of Social Work program, Karin’s commitment to ongoing education and training for those in the mental health field emphasizes her belief in the importance of being a life-long learner in order to foster meaningful, successful therapeutic relationships.
