Why Mobile Crisis Training?

This DBHDS and DMAS training will equip mobile crisis and community-based stabilization staff with the skills, competencies, and knowledge necessary to successfully provide mobile crisis and community-based stabilization services.

Who needs to be trained?

All current mobile crisis and community-based stabilization responders that have a contract with a regional crisis hub. Currently, the training is not for Residential Crisis Stabilization Staff or Emergency Services Prescreeners.

TRAINING CURRICULUM (consists of 8 modules)

  • De-Escalation
  • Child and Family Dynamics
  • Trauma
  • Developmental Disabilities
  • Screening, Triage and Assessment
  • Safety
  • Cultural Competency and Adult Services
  • Screening, Triage and Assessment, Trauma and Safety for Adults

You must complete all eight modules and the assigned coursework within one week of the final module.

The Region Five Hub will no longer be conducting Mobile Crisis Response Training. Sentara will now be offering these trainings, with online trainings becoming available in October 2026.
