Featured speakers:

Keynote speaker, Dr. Tony Dice.

Dr. Tony Dice is a therapist, author, professional substance abuse group practitioner, and owner of Bishop & Dice Defense, LLC. His experiences as a paramedic, firefighter, Navy SEAL, alcoholic and drug addict have given him a unique understanding of the human condition. Dr. Dice has received regional and national recognition for his contributions to the profession and his service to the community. He has presented on addiction at national and international conferences, authored several articles, and led numerous workshops. He holds degrees in social sciences, human services, counselor education and supervision. He currently serves as an adjunct professor at Old Dominion University, where he teaches counseling and human services courses.

Karin Duncan, LCSW, CSAC

Karin Duncan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC), currently serving as the Internal Training Coordinator at Western Tidewater Community Services Board.  With two decades experience in the human services, criminal justice and counseling fields, Karin has extensive experience working with high-risk adolescents and their families as well those who struggle with substances and issues surrounding addiction. A graduate of Bryn Mawr College’s Master of Social Work program, Karin’s commitment to ongoing education and training for those in the mental health field emphasizes her belief in the importance of being a life-long learner in order to foster meaningful, successful therapeutic relationships.
