Virginia Beach Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Assessment Center

The Virginia Beach CIT Assessment Center is part of a community partnership that supports individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis through immediate crisis assessment, intervention, and consultation.

The center is located inside the Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center and is staffed by the Department of Human Services Emergency Services Unit and a CIT-certified Virginia Beach Police Officer. It is open 24/7, 365 days a year.

What the center offers:

  • Immediate telephone or in-person crisis assessments
  • Crisis intervention and consultation
  • Screening for psychiatric hospitalization and crisis stabilization
